The Opposing Party's Attitude for China-Taiwan FTA and Its Potential Impact

The highest leader of DPP, the main opposinbg party in Taiwan just expressed that, she will reconsider the content of the primary framework of China-Taiwan FTA after winning the oncoming election of the President.  She will also put the following agreements with China onto the agenda of the Parliament of Taiwan. While it is indeed legitimate to at least consult with the Parliament or even to obtain the consent of the Parliament regarding the approval of the FTA and the like agreements, I really doubt the legality of reconsidering a FTA, which has already been in force, under the international law.

Also, if she will really do so in the future, what would the impact on the bilateral relation between Taiwan and China? Furthermore, would it impair the other negotiations of FTA between Taiwan and its trade partners? Since two of the reasons they are willing to talk with Taiwan is that China will not oppose it by unilaterally punishing them and they will benefit from the preferntial market access Taiwan obtained from China.

I hope the declaration of DPP's highest leader is merely an election strategy. Otherwise, it would result in serious consequences. Nevertheless she is also the author who stated that the bilateral relation between Taiwan and China shall be seen as a special international relation, which is inconsistent with the One-China Policy strongly insisted by China as its CORE INTEREST.
